Barcelona star Arda Turan has revealed that he has high hopes for Turkey in the European Championships and that he will stay at his current club next season.

Turan posted a statement on his official Instagram account that underlined ‘everything starts now’.

“I am looking forward to the European Championships with my country and all the trophies we are going to win at my club, everything starts now,” Turan said.

Turan became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga for a second time when Barcelona lifted the title over the weekend.

The experienced winger was also the first Turkish international to win the La Liga when he lifted the title with Atletico Madrid.

The 29-year-old is expected to play a key role in Turkey’s Euro 2016 campaign and is likely to be captain.

Turan finished the season with two goals and four assists in 25 appearances for Barca. Four goals and six assists in his last 11 international games for Turkey.
