Barcelona star Arda Turan to miss crucial derby

Man United transfer news

Arda Turan will miss Barcelona’s derby encounter with their rivals Espanyol at the Cornella-El Prat stadium in January.

The Turkish international will miss the crucial encounter despite Barcelona’s transfer ban ending at the start of next year.

This is due to the 1st of January being a public holiday and the game falling on the next day which is a Saturday.

The La Liga champions will not have the chance to register their new signing meaning Turan will have to wait until the following week to make his Barcelona debut.

Turan is unable to play for Barcelona due to a FIFA imposed transfer ban however, the 28-year-old played an hour of football against the Netherlands last week.

The 28-year-old has now scored twice and provided two assists in his last three Euro 2016 Qualifying games for Turkey.

Turkey take on Iceland and the Czech Republic in their next two Euro 2016 qualification games.
