Samuel Eto’o has revealed that Barcelona star Lionel Messi is his favourite player in world football today.
Speaking to Lig Tv Eto’o stated that he prefers Messi over Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I prefer Messi he is the best player in the world and I saw him develop from a young so it means more to me and I prefer his style,” Eto’o said.
Eto’o did of course used to play for Barcelona – with Messi – and won just about every title in domestic and European football at the club so his opinion probably has a little bit of bias but it is still hard to disagree based on recent form.
The experienced striker also won the treble in clouding the Champions League in Italy with Inter Milan under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho. Eto’o also won the World Club Cup at Inter and UEFA Super Cup at Chelsea.
The Cameroon international surprised many with his move to Antalyaspor over the summer and he has hit the ground running in Turkey scoring 14 league goals already – only Mario Gomez has more with 15 goals in the Super League.
