Barcelona suffered a shock 4-3 defeat against Celta Vigo. Ironically the last side to put four goals past Barca was Celta as well.
Barca were however, without star man Lionel Messi but Arda Turan was available although he started in central midfield instead of a like for like swap with the Argentinian international.
Turan was unable to add to his goal or assist tally in what was a rather disappointing week for the experienced winger.
The 29-year-old was dropped from the Turkish national team yet again after failing to resolve his differences with head coach Fatih Terim.
Turan was not included in the last round of international games which saw Turkey draw 1-1 with Croatia and he has also been left out of the latest round of World Cup qualification games.
Terim and Turan fell out following Turkey’s early exit from the European championships this summer – reportedly over player bonuses.
In other Barcelona team news Messi has returned to training according to Mundo Deportivo and is expected to return to first team football soon.
