Başakşehir keep 10th clean sheet following Sivasspor win [divider]
Başakşehir kept their 10 clean sheet this season following the 2-0 win against Sivasspor.
Only Bayern Munich have conceded fewer goals than Başakşehir in Europe’s top-tier leagues this season.
The Istanbul based side have only let in five goals in 14 games this season – Bayern have conceded just four this season.
Başakşehir have an even more impressive away record, the Istanbul based side have only conceded one goal in six away games this season.
Manager Abdullah Avcı underlined the importance of his side defending as a team in his post-match press conference.
“We conceded too many positions to the opposition today,” Avcı said.
“In the world of football today being able to defend as a team is very important.
“We defend well as a team, all the players know how to defend, we have only let in five goals this season and that is worthy of praise.
“We will continue playing according to our philosophy, we are called a defensive side but we actually create many chances in our games and have only scored three less than Galatasaray and Beşiktaş.”
Başakşehir remained in fourth place following the win.
