Bayer Leverkusen team news: Calhanoglu starts against Tottenham

Bayer Leverkusen take on Tottenham at the BayArena hoping to extend their 10 match unbeaten run at home and win their first game of the Champions League group stage.

Bayer have two key players out going into the Spurs game with Karim Bellarabi and Joel Pohjanpalo both out injured.

The Bundesliga outfit do however, have star play-maker and free-kick maestro Hakan Calhanoglu available. The Turkish international star was targeted by Tottenham over the summer and has scored twice and provided three assists this season.

Fellow Turkish international Omer Toprak will start in defence but he will have to be at his best to prevent a Spurs side that have scored in each of their last 21 games.

Bayer have two draws so far in the Champions League but were seconds away from a victory against Monaco until Kamil Glik scored a last gasp goal on 94 minutes to tie the game in Group E.
