Bayern Munich sporting director heaps praise on Manchester United target Gundogan

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has heaped praise on Borussia Dortmund’s star midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Sammer was questioned by Sky Deutschland about reports linking Bayern to the Germany international.

The 47-year-old sporting director declined to comment on whether his side had made a bid for Gundogan but did talk up the midfielders ability.

“He is a wonderful player who has set out his plans,” Sammer told Sky Deutschland:

“Gundogan has taken positive steps with his development after a serious [back] injury”, he continued.

“He too is an interesting player, there’s no question.”
