Belkalem confirms that he will miss the AFCON 2015

Trabzonspor’s defender Essaid Belkalem has been ruled out of the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 due to an injury.
The powerful centre back posted a message on Facebook confirming that he will be missing out on the competition.
“I was devastated when I said my latest medical report. I will be missing the African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea. I wish all my teammates the best and will be supporting them all the way.”
The Algerian international underwent an MRI scan after the injury which revealed a muscle tear.
Belkalem will be out for a few weeks for club and country.
The 25-year-old defender has three goals and one assist in all competitions for Trabzonspor this season.
Belkalem joined the Black Sea Storm from Watford this summer.
Algeria will kick off their 2015 AFCON campaign in Equatorial Guinea against South Africa in Mongomo on January 19, before facing their other Group C opponents Ghana and Senegal.
