Besiktas secured all three points at the Fatih Terim stadium with a comfortable 2-0 victory over their Istanbul rivals Kasimpasa.
Demba Ba scored twice for the Eagles in the first half, taking his goal tally to 12 in 15 games.
Kasimpasa manager Shota Arvaladz will be left wondering ‘what if’, after his side were denied by a goal line clearance from Besiktas’s stand-in centre back Necip Uysal.
The away side offered very little in the second half with the exception of a long range free-kick from Ryan Bable with rattled the post.
The victory takes Besiktas up first place in the Super League.
