Beşiktaş failed to close the gap with Galatasaray to one point following their 2-2 draw against Balıkesirspor at the Osmanlı stadium in Ankara.

Demba Ba gave the Black Eagles the lead from the penalty spot on 35 minutes with his 23rd goal of the season.

Beşiktaş went into the half time break with the lead but Zec equalised soon after the break.

Daniel Opare wrapped up a great week for Beşiktaş with what looked like the winning goal three minutes later.

The Eagles grew increasingly tired as the match progressed and allowed Balıkesirspor to get back into the game.

Balıkesirspor grew in confidence towards the end of the match and Vargas equalised from the penalty spot on 83 minutes.

There was more late drama as Pedro Franco was shown a red card for a professional four on Sercan Yıldırım in additional time and Balıkesirspor hit the crossbar from the following free-kick.

The draw was not enough to take Balıkesirspor out of the relegation zone. Beşiktaş remain in second place on 49 points.
