The Beşiktaş – Başakşehir game will go ahead despite the one week Süper Lig suspension that came into force today.

The suspension will see the Round of 27 postponed by a week.

The final game of the Round of 26 will still go ahead as planned meaning Beşiktaş will face Başakşehir on Monday 6 April.

Turkish Football Federation (TFF) president Yıldırım Demirören confirmed that the mid-week Turkish Cup and next weeks league games have been postponed following the armed attack on the Fenerbahçe team bus.

“The Turkish Cup game and next weeks league games will be postponed one week following the awful attack on the Fenerbahçe team bus, all the clubs agreed and acted in solidarity,” Demirören said on the official TFF website.

The following Turkish Cup game have been postponed:

Tuesday 7 April 
Medicana Sivasspor-Kayserispor
Wednesday 8 April 
18.30 Gençlerbirliği-Bursaspor
20.30 Manisaspor-Galatasaray

The Fenerbahçe team was making its way toward Trabzon’s airport following a 5-1 win over Çaykur Rizespor when the shooting occurred.

The team bus was shot at with a rifle along the Sürmene-Araklı Highway by a vehicle travelling on the other side of the road heading in the opposite direction.
