Beşiktaş press officer Metin Albayrak has called on referee Fırat Aydınus to resign from his position following the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe.

“If Fırat Aydınus has any decency he will resign, we hope the MHK will bring us justice, even in an amateur game between kids a player cannot take off his shirt, then leave and return to the playing field whenever he likes,” Albrayrak told Beşiktaş Tv.

“We have a federation that shuts entire stands because of chants they feel could be interpreted as offensive but they turn a blind eye when an actual player is swearing at our manager.”

Aydınus was heavily criticised after the game for not punishing Emre Belözoğlu and Slaven Bilic for having an altercation on the field.

The experienced referee also failed to book Emmanuel Emenike who removed his shirt, left the field without permission and reentered the pitch without the referee approving.

The Black Eagles are calling the incident a technical error and former referee and football pundit Ahmet Çakar claims that Beşiktaş could appeal for a rematch as a result.

Beşiktaş started the week as group leaders but fell one point behind Galatasaray following the 1-0 defeat to Fenerbahçe.

The Yellow Canaries closed the gap with Beşiktaş to just one point following the victory over the Black Eagles.
