Beşiktaş have released an official statement denying being in talks with Nigerian international Raheem Lawal.
The statement read: “Reports that Beşiktaş are in talks with Raheem Lawal are false.”
Beşiktaş were reported to have made Eskişehirspor an enquiry for Lawal and entered talks with his agent according to Turkish newspaper Fotomac.
The Black Eagles are on the hunt for an alternative to Atiba Hutchinson if the Canadian international fails to agree terms to a new contract.
Atiba’s contract with Besiktas runs out at the end of the season and the Istanbul based club have been unable to reach an agreement with the Canadian international.
Lawal joined Eskişehirspor from Mersin Idmanyurdu in February for €1 million.
The central midfielder has two assist and two goals in all competitions for EsEs this season. Lawal has made six international appearances for Nigeria.
Beşiktaş are currently first in the Süper Lig and take on Trabzonspor next at the Avni Aker stadium.
