Besiktas deny Tore signing for West Ham on €11m deal

West Ham v Chelsea

Besiktas have released an official statement denying that Gokhan Tore has agreed terms with West Ham and that the club will announce the transfer in May.

The statement read: “Reports in the Takvim and Fotomac newspapers today claiming that Gokhan Tore has been signed by West Ham United and that the details of the transfer will be announced in May are false.”

The Takvim newspaper claimed that the Hammers have reached an agreement to sign Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore on a €11 million transfer.

It is worth pointing out similar reports were published this time last year regarding Bilic agreeing terms with West Ham which were also initially denied but later confirmed.

Tore’s agent Ahmet Bulut recently advised his client to consider a move to Europe at the end of the season.

Bulut stated that Tore should make the move if he wants to become the next Arda Turan and confirmed that he has received offers.

“Atletico Madrid made an offer last summer but the bid fell below Beşiktaş’s asking price and the club wanted him to stay at least another season,” Bulut told Fanatik.

“I can’t say if Gökhan will stay or league but if he wants to forge a career in Europe this summer would be ideal.

“I can’t say where he wants to go but if he wants to be like Arda he needs to consider it.”

The Turkish international winger is no stranger to England having first made a name for himself in the Chelsea youth setup.

The young winger has six goals and eight assists in all competitions for the Black Eagles this season.
