Beşiktaş have denied making an offer for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech the club revealed.

The Black Eagles released a statement on their official website rejecting rumours of a deal for Cech.

The statement read: “The report in the Takvim newspaper claiming that he held a meeting with Petr Cech’s agent is false.”

Beşiktaş are in the market for a new goalkeeper following high profile mistakes from their current number one, Tolga Zengin.

The Black Eagles are currently playing their third choice keeper in goal following injuries to Zengin and Cenk Gönen.

Cech has struggled for playing time this season after falling down the pecking order behind Thibaut Courtois but still has one year left on his contract.

Arsenal and Roma ahave been closely linked with the Czech republic international according to the Telegraph.

Beşiktaş are currently second in the Süper Lig, just one point behind league leaders Galatasaray.

The Black Eagles will take on Başakşehir after the international break.
