Besiktas deserved the wins says Partizan manager [divider]
Beşiktaş deserved the 2-1 win against Partizan according to the Serbian giants manager Marko Nikolic.
“I want to praise Beşiktaş, they deserved the win, we couldn’t get the draw we were after despite hitting the crossbar in the last seconds,” Nikolic said.
“We had two players born in 1996, one in 1994 and one in 1992, this was a very young team.
“We lost at the end of the day and will return to our domestic football now.
“I am not pleased with the score, Partizan are a huge club and do not deserve these kinds of results but unfortunately this is the situation we are in.
“Once our young players gain more experience we will become stronger.”
The one bright note was Saša Marković scoring Partizan’s first goal of the campaign.
Partizan remain in last place in Group C following the loss.
The Serbian giants face a tough away trip to Tottenham next while Beşiktaş travel to Greece against Asteras.
