Besiktas fail to break Man Utd Europa League crowd attendance record [divider]

Beşiktaş failed to break Manchester United’s Europa League attendance record against Club Brugge in the Last 16 second leg game at the Atatürk Olympic stadium.

The previous Europa League crowd attendance record was set in 2012 when 67,328 supporters filled the stands during the Manchester United – Ajax game at Old Trafford.

The record has however, broken yesterday by Dinamo Kiev in the Last 16 second leg game against Everton.

The NSC Olimpiyskiy stadium was filled by 67,553 fans in the Dinamo – Everton clash.

There were 65,110 supporters at the Atatürk Olympic stadium for the Beşiktaş – Club Brugge game.

Beşiktaş ended up being knocked out of the competition 5-2 on aggregate after losing the game 3-1 despite taking the lead.

The Black Eagles also took the lead in the first leg in Belgium but ended up losing 2-1.

Beşiktaş are currently first in the Süper Lig and take on Fenerbahçe in the Istanbul derby next on Sunday.
