Besiktas player ratings vs Napoli: The renaissance of Ricardo Quaresma

Besiktas held Napoli to a 1-1 draw at the Vodafone Arena maintaining their unbeaten run in the Champions League and domestically in the process.

Below are our Besiktas player ratings:

Fabricio – 7.5

Infinitely better than Tolga Zengin at knowing when to leave his line and when to stay put. Fabri’s positioning was excellent and he made two excellent saves to prevent Napoli from scoring. There was little he could have done about the goal it was simply a world class strike from Hamsik.

Beck – 7.5

Defensively solid, made life difficult for Ghoulam and Insigne down his flank.

Marcelo – 8

Had Gabbiadini in his pocket and didn’t let Mertens have much of a sniff on goal after his introduction either. Stellar defensive display and great on the ball.

Rhodolfo – 7.5

Worked hard but his positioning was off at times and he was caught out on a few occasions.

Tosic  – 5

Lasted just 24 minutes before getting replaced by Cenk Tosun.

Adriano – 8

Brilliant performance from Adriano who started as a left-winger before filling in seamlessly at left-back for Tosic. Used the Napoli flank as his own personal highway bombing up and down creating the away side a host of problems.

Atiba – 8.5

Vintage Atiba display. Flawless passing (93 percent), hard working and he even hit the post in the first half. The Canadian international kept things ticking in midfield and linked defence to attack.

Gokhan Inler – 7

Made life difficult for the Napoli midfield by disrupting play and shielding the centre-backs. Rarely put a foot wrong but did pick up a soft yellow card.

Quaresma – 9

Devastated the Napoli defence on more than one occasion with his brilliant technical ability, vision and dribbling skills. The Euro 2016 winner always had the ability but lacked the mindset to fulfil his potential… until now. The experienced winger put Besiktas ahead from the penalty spot and created  The renaissance of Ricardo Quaresma continues!

Tolgay Arslan – 6.5

Struggled to have the same impact he had in the first encounter against Napoli but he did pass well and track back.

Aboubakar – 7

Was a handful when playing upfront but less effective when pushed out wide following the introduction of Cenk Tosun.

Subs:

Cenk Tosun – 6

Struggled to hold up play upfront and looked lost when swapped with Aboubakar to play out wide.

Ozyakup – 6

Played the last 20 minutes and provided a creative spark but was not on the field long enough to really stamp his mark on the game.
