Beşiktaş are set to table a bid for Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul according to CNN Turk.

Black Eagles president Fikret Orman recently confirmed the clubs main January transfer target is to bring in an additional defender and fullback.

Kaboul has fallen out of favour with head coach Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks and has struggled for playing time.

“To be captain means you are a leader, but just because you are captain it doesn’t mean you are sure of a place in the starting XI,” Pochettino said.

“It’s a football decision. There is no other explanation.

“When you decide to pick the team, you don’t think about who the captain is. It’s my job to pick the players and that will always be my decision.”

Kaboul’s last Spurs start was against Beşiktaş in mid-December, he was on the bench for Newcastle a week later but has not played since.

The 28-year-old defender’s contract runs out in 2016.

Beşiktaş are currently second in the Süper Lig and will face Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32.
