Beşiktaş have released a statement criticising Fanatik newspaper for publishing an article claiming that the Black Eagles are in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu.
The statement read: “The article in the Fanatik named ‘Luce is ready’ is a total fabrication, Mehmet Demircan made the story up. We are not in talks with Mircea Lucescu, Slaven Bilic still has another year left on his contract.”
Beşiktaş recently released another statement denying being in talks with Lucescu.
The statement read: “The AMK article regarding Beşiktaş being in talks with Mircea Lucescu is a complete fabrication.”
The Black Eagles rejected claims that Lucescu will be replacing Slaven Bilic for the second time in a week.
Bilic has been closely linked with a move to the Premier League next season however, the Beşiktaş board have underlined that they want the Croatian manager to stay on as head coach next season.
Lucescu previously managed Beşiktaş and won the Süper Lig as Black Eagles head coach in 2002-03.
The Romanian manager has a lot of experience coaching in Turkey and has also been closely linked with a move to Fenerbahçe.
