Besiktas table three year deal for Everton target

Besiktas have tabled an offer for AC Milan’s out-of-favour defender Christian Zapata.

Sky Sport Italia have claimed that the Black Eagles are offering Zapata a three-year deal worth a total of €10m, including performance-related bonuses.

The 29-year-old is a Colombia international with 40 senior caps under his belt.Sky Sport Italia go onto state that Besiktas directors will travel to Milan for further negotiations in the coming weeks.

Everton have also been linked with the experinced midfielder by the Daily Mail newspaper.

The report states that  Zapata is on Everton’s list of targets should they lose their fight to keep John Stones.

Besiktas are on the hunt for extra defensive cover after offloading Ersan Gulum in January. Senol Gunes have been forced to use Necip and Tosic at times as centre backs due to injures this season.

The Black Eagles take on their Istanbul rivals Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig this weekend.
