Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has left Victor Valdes out of the 2015-16 Champions League squad.

Valdes has also been left without a squad number in the Premier League and is not expected to feature this season.

The Spanish goalkeeper would be allowed to leave in January should Beşiktaş make another move for the former World Cup winner.

Beşiktaş were reported to have had an agreement with Valdes but it fell through last minute.

The Black Eagles released the following statement regarding the offer: “Beşiktaş did not mislead anyone, we made an offer through his agent but an agreement was not reached.”
