Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic believes that if his side have a good chance of reaching the Europa League final if they eliminate Liverpool from the competition.
“Liverpool are one of the toughest sides in the competition but we are looking forward to the game as it will gage our strength,” Bilic told Croatian newspaper Jutarnji.
“If we make it past Liverpool we have a chance to make it to the final, at least we will be able to say we earned our place if we make it that far.”
Beşiktaş have already faced Premier League opposition four times this season.
The Black Eagles narrowly lost out 1-0 on aggregate against Arsenal in the Champions League Play-off round over two legs in September.
The Turkish giants also drew against Tottenham in London and beat Spurs 1-0 in Istanbul in the Europa League to finish Group C in first place.
Beşiktaş are currently second in the Süper Lig just one point behind league leaders Fenerbahçe who are first with 36 points.
Bilic spent four years in England during his playing career. The former Croatia national team coach played for West Ham United and Everton.
The experienced manager has been with Beşiktaş since July 2013 and still has two-years left on his contract.
