Bilic – ‘It was a great night Besiktas and Turkish football’ [divider]
Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic underlined that the win against Liverpool was not only an achievement for his side but also Turkish football in general.
The Black Eagles knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League Round of 32 on penalties.
“It is a great night for Beşiktaş and Turkish football,” Bilic told the official Beşiktaş website.

Bilic also praised and thanked the Black Eagles faithful for filling the stands at the Atatürk Olympic stadium.
“The fans tonight were unbelievable. I hope they provide us with the same support in all our matches,” he added.
The Croatian manager underlined that his sides performance was not a one off. Bilic underlined that Beşiktaş also played well against Arsenal and Tottenham this season.
“We played no different than the Arsenal and Tottenham games but displayed more attacking football in the second half,” Bilic said.
Beşiktaş drew 0-0 against Arsenal in the Champions League playoffs and beat Tottenham 1-0 in Istanbul in the Europa League group stages.
The Black Eagles will now face Belgium side Club Brugge in the Europa League Last 16 in March.
Beşiktaş take on last placed Süper Lig side Balıkesirspor next in the league and could move into first place should Galatasaray fail to beat Erciyesspor.
