Bilic revealed that Club Brugge deserved to book a place in the quarter-finals. The Belgium side beat Beşiktaş 5-2 on aggregate, winning the first leg 2-1 and the return leg in Istanbul 3-1.

“They deserved the win, especially for their second-half showing,” he added.

The Croatian manager admitted he was puzzled with his sides reaction to the equaliser and disappointed with the fans.

“Our game plan was changed and suddenly the fans’ attitude did, too. It was a disappointment for us,” Bilic said.

Beşiktaş lost their first game at the Atatürk Olympic stadium in European competition against Club Brugge.

The Turkish giants went ahead in both legs but ended up losing both games.

The Eagles take on Fenerbahçe next at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium in the Süper Lig on Sunday.
