Luvas Leiva will hold talks with the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to ask for permission to join Galatasaray.

The Brazil international’s proposed transfer to Galatasaray has been put on hold by the German tactician until defensive cover is found according to the Echo. Lucas was also on the verge of joining Besiktas last summer before Brendan Rodgers pulled the plug on the deal due to injuries in his squad.

However, Lucas is keen to push ahead with the move and according to the Turkish outlet LigTV, has held a meeting with Klopp.

Klopp is currently facing a defensive crisis with Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out injured and Skrtel as well as Toure recently parting ways with the club.

Lucas would end a nine-year stint at the club if he were to leave and join former teammate Martin Skrtel in Turkey this summer.
