Borussia Dortmund are already lining up a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan who is expected to leave the Bundelsiga giants this summer.

According to Transfermarkt the Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma is being courted by Dortmund and that the German club will make a move for Lerma if Gundogan departs.

Manchester City are understood to be leading the race to sign Gundogan. The Daily Mail newspaper claims that a four-year deal has been struck with the 25-year-old.

Arsenal have also been frequently linked with Gundogan over the past season and are also in the race to sign him this summer according to the Express.

However, the Gunners seem to have cooled their interest in the 25-year-old after signing the Switzerland international Granit Xhaka.

Gundogan has been ruled out of Euro 2016 and the beginning of next season after dislocating his knee during training earlier this month. The German outlet Bild report that it will take Gundogan four to six months for him to make a full recovery.
