Bundesliga giants set to reject second bid from Man City for Liverpool target

Borussia Dortmund are expected to reject a second bid for Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City.

The German outlet Bild have stated that City’s improved offer of £21 million is expected to be turned down by the Bundesliga giants.

The City blues initially tabled an offer of £18 million for the 25-year-old. Bild go onto state that the believe they can entice a bigger offer from the Premier League giants.

Gundogan has made more than 100 league appearances for Dortmund since he joined in 2011 and has earned himself 16 national team caps.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are monitoring Ilkay Gundogan’s transfer situation according to the newspaper Express. However, The Sun newspaper recently reported that City director of football Txiki Begiristain and Pep Guardiola have managed to convince the Germany international of Turkish origin to join the club after weeks of talks.

Gundogan has seven assist and three goals in 40 appearances for Dortmund this season. The Bundesliga side are are in second place behind leaders Bayern Munich with 74 points in 31 games.
