Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored a stunning long range effort goal against Borussia Mönchengladbach but it was not enough to secure Bayer Leverkusen all three points.

Çalhanoğlu has scored two goals in his last three Bundesliga appearances taking his overall tally to four this season.

The Turkish international has six goals and four assists in all competitions this season.

Çalhanoğlu was named best young player of the 2013/14 season by leading German football magazine 11 Freunde.

The young midfielder has also been nominated for the Golden Boy 2014 award.

The 20-year-old has also developed a reputation as a free-kick specialist.

The Bayer star has scored 15 direct free kick goals over the the last two seasons.

Çalhanoğlu has scored seven direct free-kicks in the Bundesliga in his career despite being just 20-years-old.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola recently called Çalhanoğlu the best set-piece taker in Germany.

“Çalhanoğlu is one of the best free-kick takers in the Bundesliga,” Guardiola said.
