Besiktas goalkeeper Genk Gonen has returned to first team training after recovering from an injury he suffered following Besiktas’ 2-2 draw with Balikesirspor.

The 27-year-old keeper joined the rest of his side  at the Nevzat Demir training facility this morning.

Gönen is still a slight doubt for this weekends game against Sivasspor but is expected to recover in time for the trip to Sivas.

Beşiktaş would have to field third choice goalkeeper Emre Metin if Gönen were to fail to recover in time for the Sivasspor game.

First choice keeper Tolga Zengin is still out injured and is not expected back for another two weeks.

Gönen kept a clean sheet against the Liverpool in the Europa League in regulation time to keep his third shutout this season.

The Turkish international keeper has conceded 14 times in 14 appearances and kept a total of three clean sheets this season.
