Chedjou called up to Cameroon squad

Galatasaray defender  Aurelien Chedjou has been called up the to Cameroon national team squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Chedjou has been called up in place of the injured Brice Nlate Ekongolo.

The African Cup of Nations will run from January 17 to February 8 meaning clubs could be missing their African players for up to a month.

Cameroon squad:
Abogo, Ndy, Ondua, Djeugoue, Nkoulou, Bedimo, Bagnack, Oyongo, Chedjou, Enoh, Mbia, Loe, Salli, Mandjeck, Kom, Ekeng, Choupo-Moting, Moukandjo, Aboubakar, Kweuke, N’Jie, Etoundi, Zoua.

Cameroon manager Volker Finke has left out some big names out of the squad such as Alex Song.

Galatasaray signed Chedjou from Lille OSC for €6.3 million last season.

Chedjou currently earns €2.2 million per-season and has three-years left on his contract.

The Cameroon international lifted the Ligue 1 title with Lille in 2010-11 and made 204 appearances for Les Dogues during his time at the Ligue 1 outfit.

Chedjou has two goals and two assists for the Lions in all competitions.
