Chelsea defender scored own goal in Turkey

The Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo scored an own goal during Kasimpasa’s 2-0 defeat to Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Nigeria international turned the ball into his own net to give Konyaspor the lead.

Kasimpasa are currently in eighth place with 44 points from 32 games with two games to go.

Omeruo has been in impressive for the Istanbul based team since joining on a season long loan from Chelsea last summer.

The 22-year-old defender has established himself as a key member of the best performing defensive side in the league at Kasimpasa

Omeruo has managed to hold down a regular starting position when injury-free. The 28-cap Nigerian international has had a few injury problems which is one of his main worries considering he also had groin troubles at Middlesbrough last season.

 

The international defender is expected to return to the Blues at the end of the season.
