Chelsea have joined the race for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan according to Sport.

The report claims that the Blues have made Barcelona an enquiry regarding the availably of Turan.

Chelsea were close to signing the experienced midfielder last summer before he joined Barcelona on a £29 million move.

Turan does have another four-years remaining on his current contract and is reported to be happy at Barcelona but there are reports that some high ranking members at the club are keen on cutting their losses and severing ties.

The Sun claims that the Blues could face competition from London rivals Arsenal who are also interested and claim that Barcelona could be willing to sell him for a cut-price £23 million deal.

The Gunners would be able to offer Turan Champions League football if he were to make the move unlike Chelsea.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have also been linked with the Turkish intentional midfielder.
