Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas 'not in the same league' as Arsenal's star playmaker says former England international

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil

The former England international and football pundit Stan Collymore has told the Mirror that Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas is not in the same league as Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil

The controversial pundit told the Mirror that Chelsea should be looking to upgrade Cesc and urged them to table a £70 million bid for Mesut Ozil.

“I just don’t see Fabregas as a great No.10 – he’s a Jack of all trades and master of none. He’s not in the same league, for example, as Mesut Ozil, who can do much more in bossing games,” Collymore told the Mirror.

“While I’m sure Ozil won’t be going anywhere, if I was Conte, I’d put in a cheeky £60-£70million bid to see if it got him.

Ozil was left in the Arsenal squad which was defeated by Liverpool yesterday afternoon. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given 27-year-old an extended break after he lead Germany to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 where he scored one goal and provided one assist.

Chelsea host their London based rivals West Ham United at Stamford Bridge in their opening game of the 2016-17 Premier League season. Arsenal take on last season’s champions Leicester City as they look to get their season back on track.
