The ex France international stated that he has a lot of respect for Turan as a player but just does not see where he would fit in with the current setup.
“Arda is a good player, important for his team, but I don’t know if he would adapt,” he was quoted as saying by Goal.
Barcelona have also been heavily linked with Turan throughout the summer but Abidal does not believe he would fit the Barcelona philosophy.
Mundo Deportivo claimed that Turan will sign for Barcelona but his agent Ahmet Bulut ruled being in talks with the Champions League winners.
“I have not spoke with anyone from Barcelona these newspaper stories are just rumours,” Bulut told NTV Spor.
“I am not going to say where Arda is going right now it is not the right time I would love to say but in three to four days the club will let you know anyway.”
Turan will leave Atleti over the next few days according to his agent Ahmet Bulut. The Turkish international also confirmed that his agent is in talks with up to four clubs on his twitter account.
Chelsea are currently the bookmakers favourite to sign Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan. Betvictor has Turan priced at 1.33 to sign the Turkish international with Manchester United second with odds of 4.50.
