Chelsea v Liverpool – Probable lineups, injury news – Emre Can faces a race against time

Philippe Coutinho Emre Can Liverpool team news

Chelsea host Liverpool tonight in the Premier League as they look to keep their unbeaten run under Antonio Conte intact.

The Blues look much improved under the former Juventus boss but were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by Swansea City last week. Chelsea captain John Terry has been ruled out with an ankle injury so David Luiz is ready to fill in and make a second club debut.

Liverpool come into the game in good form following a 4-1 victory over last seasons Premier League champions Leicester City.

Defender Dejan Lovren is set to return to the starting line up after recovering from an eye injury. Meanwhile, Emre Can is struggling to recover from an ankle injury in time, for kick-off.

“Emre is not injured any more, which is good, but now he needs to train and that’s how it is. He had a difficult preseason with coming back later than most of the other players then a little injury here and a little problem there,” Klopp was quoted by ESPN as saying in the lead up to the game.

Liverpool can move into second place if they record a victory over Chelsea tonight.
