Chinese giants offer €20m for Robin Van Persie a year after leaving Man Utd

Chinese giants Shanghai Shenhua have offered Fenerbahce €20 million for Robin van Persie and are prepared to increase their bid to €25 million according to the Fanatik.

Shenhua have been active in the Turkish market recently snapping up Demba Ba from Besiktas for €14 million last summer.

The Chinese giants would not however, be able to sign Van Persie unless they sell an existing non-Asian player due to the foreign player restrictions enforced in the league.

Fenerbahce were reported to have turned down the €20 million offer but the report claims the Yellow Canaries could consider the increased bid.

Yellow Canaries boss Vitor Pereira has requested that the Dutch star stays at the club until at least the end of the season.

Van Persie joined the Istanbul giants from Manchester United on a three-year deal last summer and already has more league goals than all his former teammates (9).

The experienced striker scored on the weekend in the Canaries 3-1 win over Kasimpasa to take his overall tally for the season up to 14.

Van Persie is expected to feature in the Fenerbahce’s Europa League Round of 32 clash against Lokomotiv Moscow toady.
