Coutinho was singled out for praise by Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic before the game.

The former Croatian national team manager also underlined that his side would be taking precautions to stop Coutinho.

“Coutinho is an exceptional talent, we cannot afford to give him time and space on the ball,” Bilic told DHA.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has three goals and five assists in all competitions for Liverpool this season.

Beşiktaş were undefeated in the Europa League Group C, drawing against Tottenham at White Hart Lane and beating Spurs 1-0 in Istanbul.

The Eagles are currently 1st in the Süper Lig on 47 points after 20 games.
