Cüneyt Çakır will officiate the Turkish Super Lig derby between Besiktas and Galatasaray.
Besiktas host Galatasaray at the Ataturk Olimpiyat stadium on Sunday 4 January at 17:00 GMT.
Galatasaray are unbeaten verses Besiktas since March 2011.
Çakır became the first Turkish referee in 40 years to officiate at a World Cup. He officiated three games in Brazil, including the semifinal match between the Netherlands and Argentina.
The 38-year-old averages 4.11 yellow cards per game, 0.21 red cards per game and 0.27 penalties per game.
Despite criticism for being a little too card-happy the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) named Çakır as the fifth best referee in the world.
