Czech international Tomas Sivok makes first Besiktas start in 5 months

Czech International defender Tomas Sivok will make his first Beşiktaş start in five months against Başakşehir in the mini Istanbul derby.

The experienced defender has missed much of the season due to injury.

The 31-year-old joined Beşiktaş from Udinese in July 2008 for €5 million.

The defender has made 12 appearances for the Black Eagles this season.

Sivok has 48 international caps for the Czech Republic.

The Beşiktaş – Başakşehir game was expected to be suspended following the armed attack on the Fenerbahçe team bus.

The Süper Lig will be postponed for one week but the suspension will be enforced from Tuesday 7 April.

Beşiktaş are currently third in the Süper Lig on 54 points after 25 games.

The Black Eagles will move into second place with a win against Başakşehir, overtaking Fenerbahçe and moving one point within league leaders Galatasaray.
