Alves revealed that he cannot wait to play alongside the bearded winger and sung his praises ahead of the European Super Cup final against Europa League champions Sevilla.
“It’s an honour to have Turan but it us is a pity that he can not help us now. He has quality, intelligence and personality. He is a phenomenon,” Alves was quoted as saying by Sport.
The Brazilian international will however, have to wait until January in order to play a match in any competition due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club.
Despite being signed from Atletico Madrid on a £24 million transfer last month Barcelona cannot register Turan until the turn of the year.
Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has however, decided to bring Turan alongside his new teammates to the Super Cup.
Champions League winners will take on Europa League champions in Georgia and the winner will qualify for the World Club Cup.
Turan became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga with Atletico Madrid back in 2014.
