“I was in a title race with Chelsea last season, I know what it takes and how hard you must work to challenge for the championship and how we must push that bit extra towards the end of the season,” Ba told Turkish-football.com reporters at his press conference at the Black Eagles Antalya training camp.

“Hopefully my experience can be of use to Beşiktaş this season.”

The Senegalese international scored six times in 22 matches under Rafael Benitez for Chelsea and then eight goals in 29 games under Jose Mourinho.

Ba was involved in Chelsea’s title race last season, the Blues finished the Premier League in third place, four points behind 2013-14 champions Manchester City.

The 29-year-old joined the Black Eagles from Chelsea this summer and already has 16 and two assists goals in 21 appearances for the Süper Lig giants in all competitions this season.

The Black Eagles are currently second in the Süper Lig, just one point behind league leaders Fenerbahçe who are first with 36 points.

The Turkish giants have lifted the league title 13 times but have not won the championship since the 2008-09 season.

The Black Eagles will face Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32.
