Atletico Madrid manager and star winger Arda Turan will attend the opening ceremony of the La Liga champions first academy in Turkey, Başakşehir president Gökseş Gümüşdağ revealed.
The academy will be opened in April and Atleti president Gil Marin and midfielder Gabi are also expected to attend the ceremony.
“The academy will open next month, in April. We will make a great presentation for the fans and the press. Our goal will be to train new talent and find the next Arda Turan,” Gümüşdağ told AS.
“Diego Simeone, Arda, Gabi, Gil Marín and our manager Abdullah Avci will join the opening ceremony and sign the agreement together.
“This will be a project never before done in Turkey.”
The academy will be the first of its kind in Turkey and the Rojiblancos first major investment in the country.
