Dirk Kuyt named a 'Liverpool hero'

Fenerbahçe winger Dirk Kuyt has been named a Liverpool hero on the clubs official website.

The club website published an article titled, ‘Five reasons Dirk Kuyt is an Anfield hero’.

Kuyt was praised for being hard working, loving the city of Liverpool, tormenting rivals Manchester United and his Champions League as well as his international record.

The former Netherlands international moved to Liverpool in 2006 after 83 goals in 122 appearances for Feyenoord over three seasons.

The 34-year-old scored 71 goals in 285 matches for Liverpool and 24 goals in 104 international appearances.

The Netherlands international played in the the 2006-07 Champions League final, was runner up in the 2008-09 Premier League title race and won the 2011-12 League Cup with the Reds.

The former Netherlands international has been playing in Turkey at Fenerbahce since making a €1 million move in 2012.

Kuyt recently revealed that he will join Feyenoord at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old played for Feyenoord between 2003-2006, after transferring from Utrecht.
