Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp fancies his sides chances against Juventus in the Champions League Last 16.

“We knew we would be much stronger in the second half of the season. It’s the last 16, we’ve won three in a row, it’s a great situation,” Klopp was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.

The German coach is under no illusions however, that his side must keep improving in the league.

“We know that the day after tomorrow, our relegation battle goes on. But tomorrow night, you’re not going to see that we’re in a relegation battle in the Bundesliga,” he added.

Dortmund have recovered from a poor run of form and have won three consecutive games in the Bundesliga.

The German giants have moved out of the relegation zone into 12th place and are just eight points off a European spot.

The Bundesliga outfit beat Juventus 3-1 in the 1996-97 Champions League final in Munich the last time these two sides met.

The Italian giants have not, made it past this stage of the competition since the 2002-03.

Turkish international Nuri Şahin and German international of Turkish origin İlkay Gündoğan are both expected to start against Juventus.
