Borussia Dortmund will play the second-leg of their Champions League quarter final tie against Juventus at home, midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan believes this could play into the Germany giants hands.
“Of course, but Juventus are no easy opponent. It’s not going to get any easier in this competition. Every team has their own qualities, Juve included. The second leg’s at home for us, that could be an advantage,” Gündoğan told the official Bundesliga website.
Dortmund have started to find their form domestically winning their last three consecutive games and the German giants beat Juve the last time the two sides met.
The Bundesliga outfit beat Juventus 3-1 in the 1996-97 Champions League final in Munich.
Juventus are in great form domestically and boast a nine point lead at the top of the table.
The Italian giants have not however, made it past this stage of the competition since the 2002-03.
Gündoğan has two goals and three assists in 16 appearances for Dortmund this season.
The German giants travel to Italy to face Juventus in the first-leg on Tuesday 24 February.
