Dortmund have ‘new self-confidence’ going into Juventus game says Gundogan [divider]

Borussia Dortmund have a new found self confidence going into the Champions League Last 16 game against Juventus after winning their last three consecutive games according to Ilkay Gündoğan.

“Of course. We’ve found a new self-confidence in the last three games. We’ve always put in good performances in the Champions League,” Gündoğan told the official Bundesliga website.

Gündoğan is not under any illusions however, that the game against the Italian giants will be tough.

“Obviously that’s no guarantee – it’s going to be a really tough game. We’re looking forward to it,” he added.

Dortmund have moved out of the relegation zone and are currently in 12th place following three wins on the bounce.

The German giants are currently just eight points off a European place in the Bundesliga.

Gündoğan was one of the central figures of the Dortmund side that reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2012-13 season.

Gündoğan has two goals and three assists in 16 appearances for Dortmund this season.

Dortmund travel to Italy to face Juventus in the first-leg on Tuesday 24 February.
