Dortmund highly motivated against Juventus says Klopp [divider]

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that his side are highly motivated ahead of the Champions League Last 16 second leg clash against Juventus.

“We are all highly motivated. If you think of Dortmund v Juventus, you automatically think of 1997 [when BVB beat Juve in the UEFA Champions League final]. But that will not help us,” Klopp was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.

Klopp admitted that there will be a great atmosphere but that his side cannot just rely on the 12th man.

The German manager underlined that Dortmund’s performance must be at the highest level and only then can they get a lift from the home support.

“It will be about what we do. I don’t just want to rely on the atmosphere. It is good if the two, performance and atmosphere, complement each other,” he added.

Turkish international Nuri Şahin is an injury doubt for the return-leg.

German international of Turkish origin İlkay Gündoğan is expected to start against Juventus.

Grosskreutz (hamstring) and Piszczek (ankle) are both out injured against the Italian giants.
