Dortmund join Manchester United in race for La Liga wonderkid

Valencia wonder-kid Ferhat Cogalan has been linked with some of the biggest clubs across Europe recently and Borussia Dortmund are now also reported to be in the race according to the Metro.

Dortmund are reported to be keeping tabs on Cogalan but will face competition from Manchester United who appear to be leading the race having already held talks with the 14-year-old.

Cogalan and his father – Sedat – travelled to Carrington along with their representative Habib Antar to hold talks with United.

Talks were reported to have gone well according to Futbolarena and Cogalan’s father stated that he could not rule out considering an offer from United.

Sedat said: “We’re in no hurry because Ferhat is in contract with Valencia until 2021.

“But when a club like Manchester United invites us, it is logical that we study the proposal, right?”

Cogalan does still have another five-years remaining on his deal with Valencia and is currently valued at €13 million.

The Turkish youth international was born in Arak, Trabzon and joined Valencia aged 12 where he has gone onto make a name for himself.

The youngster has also attracted interest from Juventus, Trabzonspor and Bayern Munich.
