Dusan Tosic set to turn down Southampton in favour of Besiktas

Dusko Tosic is set to turn down a move to Southampton in favour of Besiktas according to TalkSport.

The Serbia international was linked with a move to Southampton last summer but the move never materialised.

Besiktas have agreed a deal with Gençlerbirliği’s defender Dusko Tosic according to a report in the newspaper Bugun. The report stated that Besiktas have agreed a 2+1 year contract with the Serbian international.

Trabzonspor were close to agreeing a deal with Tosic last week. The Black Sea Storm’s manager Ersun Yanal met with Tosic and his agent at the Calisto Restaurant in Büyükçekmece, Ankara last month.

The former Turkish national team manager told Tosic that he wants to see him at Trabzonspor next season.

The 30-year-old has made 30 appearances for the Ankara based side this season.

Gençlerbirliği find themselves in 9th place with 40 points in32 games while Besiktas sit in 3rd place with 66 points in 31 games.

Besiktas take on Torku Konyaspor today in the Turkish Super lig this weekend.
